  •  I was going to say a small % of the Democratic (12+ / 0-)

Party now actively supports Authoritarianism.    But that's not true:

Now it's only a small a part of the Democratic Party that doesn't support Authoritarianism.

I didn't put my life on the line for a country that spies on everything I do.  And, I won't support a Democratic President that expands those powers - not even if he was my brother or partner.

    •  If the Democratic party doesn't (6+ / 0-)

Put a stop to this, it deserves a place on the ash heap of history.

A slower bleed-out is not a sustainable value.

for where we are, let's see if I get any response to my proposals for change.  One thing I've discovered about this site is that when I make suggestions about how to change things I never get a serious response.  I get a lot of name calling and personal attacks, a few knee-jerk platitudes about the hopelessness of it all, or dead silence.  I'm curious about how this plays out.  You should be, too, if change is something you want to fight for.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

Maybe it's time to take off your blinders.

There's never a time for people to get their on fire unless it's someone protesting a political personality for their civil rights.

think that'll change anything.  So far it's doing nothing.  These facts have been out there for at least seven years, the probable outcomes have been discussed since the Patriot Act was passed.  If being angry is enough for you, have at it.  I'm more interested in repeal and a national conversation about how to stop terror from undermining our democracy.

      •  I love OCD, why not make those suggestions here? (5+ / 0-)

And by "here", I mean right here, right now, in reply to this comment. Right here in this diary where people are fed up and ready to act. If ever there were a time when you'd get a listening audience, I should think this would be it.

This is a serious request for information. In no way am I snarking at you, degrading you, or making fun of you.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?

        •  Exactly. I haven't seen any proposals from 'OCD' (0+ / 0-)

I'd love to see some.  I am to some extent at a loss as to what to do, I'm basically waiting for more and more people to notice the fascism.  I think it's easier to get stuff done when more people notice it.

          •  Here's a suggestion. Don't wait for others. Take (0+ / 0-)

the banner (in whatever way you can) and march forward (against fascism).  For a time it may be a lonely march, but eventually you'll find others side to side with you.
