    Why were those warrants on AP and Fox News disclosed?  That is one piece of the story that I missed.  What prompted those DoJ warrants to be released to the public?

      Perhaps a bored cubicle-flunky in NSA's uber-basement data-mining Super-Cereal bunker somewhere just finally had enough of this shit, and decided to "make it known" that the NSA has EVERYBODY's phone records a mere keystroke away, and if anybody in gub'mint really wanted to find a whistleblower all they had to do was ask FISA for a rubber stamp.

      Hope s/he wiped his/her own data first, though.
