    All the time when I was young going to the tennis courts about a mile away. We knew enough to get out of the way if a train came, so managed not to get killed. I loved trying to walk on the rail as far as I could, mainly because it was easier than walking on the trestles.

    That being said, in retrospect I see now that if we had gotten our foot caught it could have been a very bad thing.
