One of the best days of my life was when I was 6 years old in Savannah Georgia, playing with some friends behind their house in a life-size wooden playhouse that was big enough to walk around in, with a couple of little rooms, real furniture, pretend kitchen appliances--I was in heaven.  Then it started to pour rain, and her two older brothers crowded into the little house with us and they brought....a huge tub of boiled peanuts their mother had just made.  We ate and ate and ate--and then they went inside to get us some more.  I had never eaten these before, and I do think they were one of the best things I ever ate in my life--sometimes I still think about that day, and those peanuts!

and thanks for sharing that story. They bring up many fond memories for me too.

If you don't have an Asian store near you, you can order them on the internet. You obviously pay more than you should have to for shipping, but hey, treat yourself.
