    ...cast unknowingly as the contrarian within a specific elite group inside a corporate cocoon, this wouldn't surprise me in the least.  It was years before I fully comprehended my assigned role in the enterprise.  By the time I figured out the long game, I was no longer associated with the project, and the project had been implemented.
