    Yes, I squarely aimed this diary to be as inclusive as possible. It was not my intent to focus solely on my own life as despite my background the cold hard truth is I'm still a white male living in a white male-dominated society.  I'm well aware of all the unspoken privilege that comes with that and with not having to deal with racism or sexism just to name a couple issues.

    Professor Badgett's study simply hit the bullseye for a diary I'd already been wanting to write for a very long time. It's a relief to hear that universities are actually doing studies into areas of the LGBT community we very sadly do not see being covered and explored by our own media that is supposedly here to serve us.

    Beyond notable and praiseworthy exceptions like Noah's Arc and Rupaul's Drag Race, one has to really dig below the surface to uncover much diversity in our own media. That's a damn shame in my view. We can and should do better to represent ALL who are part of the LGBT community--not just those who already have privilege or only those who can afford to buy it.
