  •  I know one thing we could do, and that's to (0+ / 0-)

legalize "drugs" in the US.  It would devastate the funding of the cartels, and prevent their ability to purchase weapons, judges, policemen, etc.

    •  right, Tork (0+ / 0-)

That is the one good thing we could do.
Quit fucking with corn prices and quit the vast illegal drug racket.

But the biochem "ag" cartel and the bloated prison/"security"/law enforcement cartel will see that profits are made no matter what.

I sure wish people from the rich parts of the USA could visit here, just to look around and meet the people.

I buy and sell well trained riding mules and American Mammoth Jack Stock.

      •  No kidding. Unfortunately, we have many people (0+ / 0-)

like Mayor Bloomberg - who wants to regulate the size of sodas people are allowed to purchase - so the idea that as long as someone isn't infringing on the rights of another, they should be allowed to eat, drink, and smoke whatever they want, isn't going to fly.

Our laws are seemingly no longer in place to protect our rights, but to protect us from ourselves.

Our incarceration rate is higher than almost anywhere else in the world; are we really a country of criminals, or is the system jacked?
