  •  Yes, that is what we deserve... (0+ / 0-)

It's the reason you all took the oath of office to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America."

Too bad more of your colleagues don't tend to their primary business which is to do what is best for the people who elected all of you.

There are a bunch of bills that need repealing.  See Rep. Barbara Lee regarding repealing AUMF.  It was illegal and unconstitutional from the get-go to give Dumbya the authority to declare war against a little group of international criminals hiding out in the wilds of the Afghanistan-Pakistan mountains, then further violate the intent of the stupid bill to illegally and unconstitutionally invade Iraq based on lies for oil.  According to the Constitution, only Congress has the duty to declare war (or NOT), and only Congress can authorize funds for two years of war.  NO president has the authority to declare war, be it against a criminal gang or a country - nor does a president have the constitutional authority to order bombs dropped from drones into other countries.  That's just begging for trouble and more war.

Needing repealing in their entirety besides AUMF:

    Patriot Act
MCA '06 (we officially need habeas corpus back!)
    FISA fiasco '08
    MCA '09
[And repeal or otherwise keep funds from going to the 'office of faith-based initiatives' which Dumbya set up to run through the White House with one of his first executive orders.  It's a clear violation of the separation of church and state to have such an office in a branch of a secular government with a secular constitution.  The office needs to be disbanded!]

Plus: Repeal Gramm-Leach-Bliley which repealed Glass-Steagall, and reinstate Glass-Steagall so we don't run into another "too big to fail" state of affairs from unregulated money institutions, including Casino Wall Street who wants our Social Security money.

    Thank you.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
