  •  That is bizarre (3+ / 0-)

I've never heard of such a thing.  wtf?

Well 70% of the intelligence budget is outsourced. I'm sure that contractors (or former contractors) would never exploit that or the vast amount of data they have access to.

I'm sure that some contractor somewhere didn't tell the ad marketing firms about a prescription drug that I used to take but have not taken for ten years, information protected by HIPAA, so that they could try to sell it to me in ads on facebook or web pages either.

No, nobody would ever exploit such a thing for money either.

the words were "online right now searching" - To say I was surprised is putting it mildly.

But worse than that was some months back before the election was a call here from OFA for my son. I did not think to ask where/how they got my phone number here.

My son has not lived in this country for awhile and when last heavily involved in politics that was in California - was years back. (And I doubt that he had to give his mother's name to campaign).

So the things OFA knows or is able to find out might boggle one's mind.

And above all that my number here is unlisted.

      Strange world we live in.

Security and Surveillance are a big part of its software division. They have lots of gubmint contracts. And guess where they offshored tons of software jobs -- India and China, Like probably close to 100 thousand  employees. Many have intranet access to the company software development libraries. Now what could possibly go wrong. :)

I think we are at the tip of the iceberg now in seeing just how horribly wrong it can go. "unwittingly" at least ;)

But hey you gotta believe the prez, right? I want to participate in that open debate he's promoting.

Just need to know when we are going to do this debate- so has anyone heard?

is to open it up to the Gang of 8 in a sekret session of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

There was a senator (JANE HARMAN retired) on the pbs news hour last night who was on that Committee. She was pushing that exact talking point -- that 8 congressmen have looked at this and they are all satisfied, so STFU.

I almost threw a shoe at the teevee.

James Bamford was the opposite side debator and could have been a lot more forceful with her. He was rolling his eyes for most off the segment.
