    •  Other agencies can be contacted (6+ / 0-)

      through that same website, Troubador.

I just hopped over to -- the page where you fill out your request form for the FBI request letters -- and saw that you can also ask the site to prepare letters for:

some other Federal agencies besides the FBI that you may be interested in (or who may have been interested in you!). Just check the boxes next to the ones that you think might have records on you.

       Defense Security Service (DSS)
       Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
       U.S. Marshals Service (USMS)
       Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
       Secret Service (USSS)
       Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID)

My question now is:  which of those agencies cover what issues -- I mean, how would one choose among them if one suspected that a particular action of theirs had been noticed and acted upon?  Or, if one wants to check to see if any/all of those agencies have a file, is there any reason not to send inquiries to all?

Not expecting you to have the answer, Troubador, just asking the question.
