    But seriously - I cannot imagine that "open a file" means anything at all any more.  It isn't like faceless gnomes are furtively searching through vast archives of paper folders and then delivering them in pneumatic tubes to who knows where.  Your "file" is whatever some set of database queries returns, and I'm sure that the act of running such a query is most likely noted.  Heck, I know I'd like to know if a whole lot of such queries are issued on me.
