    of "files" these days. If they want something on you, they go to the database(s) they've been secretly building over the past several years and amass the data they need.

    That's the thing about this. No search warrant or judicial oversight needed, because once the data has been harvested it is proprietary, especially that held on private servers.

    You will have no "record" until someone decides for whatever reason that you should have one.

    I discovered that the Office of Naval Intelligence had a dossier on me years ago because of my antiwar activity. Guys actually wrote stuff in notebooks... They've learned their lesson.
