  •  Oh, but this is not "funky." (11+ / 0-)

This is having lost our home - literally pulled out from under us on a truck - and being consigned to living a very tiny tin can of an ancient RV until such time as we can afford to build something small that's permanent.  which will be many more years, no doubt.  What this means is no real rooms; I cook on a very tiny propane range-top with a propane oven that needs lots of extra work to keep it from scorching everything.  There is a space of less than two yards between my nose and the bedroom ceiling.  the bathroom is barely a bathroom at all (and you don't want to know the agita it caused us initially).  Even the "living room" is not a room, and has a built-in hard-as-rocks bench that is supposed to be what passes for a "couch."  Hotter than hell in the summer; drafty in sub-zero winters; plastic hoses instead of pipes for the plumbing, which is why we're so often without water when the temps get really cold.

This is a whole other plane of existence, and truth be told, I'd be profoundly grateful for "funky" at this point.

All that said, the land is still where our spirits live; the other stuff is ultimately extraneous.

Authentic Native American silverwork, jewelry, photography, and other art here.
