    that the computers are storing data about me.  I understand that they use it to target ads based on their assumptions based on what I browse.  But given just how BAD those assumptions are -- how poor Amazon and Netflix are at predicting ANYTHING I might actually like, how the same really, really stooopid ads for products that are overpriced, overpumped, and couldn't appeal to anyone with a brain larger than a chimpanzee keep showing up on certain sites, while others pitch items and services I'd have to be a millionaire to have any use for -- I'm really, really worried about the assumptions that a government spy computer might make about me.  

    An algorithm that tries to sell porn to a celibate asexual isn't reliable enough to entrust even basic decisions about who should be more closely monitored to.   We all know how little a credit score really says about how likely you are to repay a loan and how rudimentary the analysis of a computer dating system is.  What makes anyone think that NSA's algorithms for predicting which keywords and patterns of communication indicate a potential terrorist are any better?
