    They changed the entire conversation.

Prior to OWS, the was virtually no public discussion about wealth and income  disparities in the US.  The concept of the 99% vs the 1% ubiquitous now.

It could even be argued  that the Romney 47% comment was so damaging due to the OWS "meme".

    •  Changed the conversation? BFD. And then what? (1+ / 0-)

We need to change the situation.

The elevation of appearance over substance, of celebrity over character, of short term gains over lasting achievement displays a poverty of ambition. It distracts you from what's truly important. - Barack Obama

      •  It is a BFD. (0+ / 0-)

Public mood is important.  Really important. Ask the people involved in the French Revolution.

Occupy Wall Street is more of a harbinger of future events -- a warning to the elites to clean up their act, if you will -- than it is an actual success.  But there has to be a first step before the next step is taken.  And it was the first step.

You are correct that the right question is "And then what?"  Before OWS, very few would be asking that question.  Now, many are asking that question.
