  •  Cruz is not playing to, or representing, TX (9+ / 0-)

We are a jumping off point for his national ambitions. He also wants to abolish the IRS.

As outrage over the targeting of conservative groups boiled, Cruz started banging the drum to scrap the agency.

“We need to abolish the IRS and make the tax code fairer, flatter, and simple enough that taxes fit on a postcard,” he posted on Facebook on May 15. At last count, 11,000 people “liked” that comment. The next day on Twitter, he called for abolishing the IRS without any mention of overhauling the tax code.

Two weeks after taking office, he signed on as a co-sponsor of a bill authored by Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., that would do just that. The Chambliss bill would replace the current tax code with a 23 percent national sales tax.

    •  Romney outperformed Cruz in Texas (11+ / 0-)

and Cruz' opponent had no money and ran an invisible campaign.

He isn't loved here, I think Gen. Sanchez screwed up big time by chickening out thinking he would have to face Dewhurst.

      •  And Cruz is "Hispanic". (0+ / 0-)

Yet he did worse than anglo Romney.

Cruz ain't no Hispanic voter darling at all.

      •  I devoutly hope so (0+ / 0-)

There's still substantial vocal TP support for his views, so one can't be absolutely sure what the electorate will do. Consider this idiot in this morning's paper.

Sen. Ted Cruz says the best and only solution to the monster called the federal income tax is to abolish it.

Some would ask, “What would replace the tax?” This is like the patient after surgery whose doctor tells him that the surgery was successful because all the cancer was removed. But, says the patient, “What are you going to replace it with?”

The federal government could produce a surplus every year if the politicians would abide by their oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. Each state could decide what functions to replace, and these functions would be handled more efficiently and honestly.

Karl Marx in his Communist Manifesto listed 10 measures which would cause “despotic inroads on the rights of property.” No. 2 is “A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.”

Our income tax is an un-American, socialistic tax and should be abolished.

And often give me dyspepsia. But we see these pov s expressed only too frequently there.

I gotta believe the electorate is just getting fed up with this crap.  Can't tell for sure at what speed they are, though.

I'm part of the "bedwetting bunch of website Democrat base people (DKos)." - Rush Limbaugh, 10/16/2012 Torture is Wrong! We live near W so you don't have to. Send love.
