  •  Lots of crimes have been solved that (17+ / 0-)

way too.  And people LIKE that.

That will forever be the problem with "technology".  ALL of it can be used for good; but it always, always, always gets used for bad.

Or, as we told our kids when they were growing up.....most people are great, but there are a few assholes who spoil it for everyone.

I despise where our consumer technology has gone.  I despise what it has done to people.  It's made us fat, and lazy, and unconnected in a way I've not see in 65+ years on the earth.  It has made uncontrollable behemoths of companies that should not have the power they do.

Perhaps this will wake up more people.  I don't see it happening, but maybe.  All of my friends know the dangers.  Most of my friends aren't connected in the way most people are.  We can be tracked just like in the old days, but it takes a little more work to know where the car without the GPS chip in it went last Thursday.  And someone, a real live person, has to review videotape to see what books I purchased at Border's.

I'm not a number!  We screamed that 30 and 40 years ago, but the system rolled on and on despite our protests.  Good luck, everyone.

Listening to the NRA on school safety is like listening to the tobacco companies on cigarette safety. (h/t nightsweat)
