Would we feel the same sense of injustice for George Zimmerman under those circumstances?
If George Zimmermen really have a legitimate reason to feel threatened by Martin and then ran back to his car and got his gun and then fired a warning shot into the air (as opposed to an unarmed 17 year-old's chest) and was then given twenty years for it... yes, I would feel bad for Zimmerman.

I was making a point about the law and the other issues involved in this case. Just because I believe the outcome was wrong doesn't excuse me from digging down past my emotions and ascertaining the facts.

This is not just about STYG. This about how we treat issues of domestic violence-poorly. This is about mandatory minimums. It is about how the law defines self defense and frequently send battered women to prison.

Sorry my take offends you but domestic violence is a big issue for me and facts and the interpretation of those facts matter. And they are going to matter to an appellate court as well.

The politicians may be bought, and the system corrupt, but it is our duty to fix these things.
