  •  This is the kind of analysis we will need ... (5+ / 0-)

... in many more districts in all fifty states before the 2014 primaries.

We just need to make sure we don’t blow it like we did this time.
So often this is the case, and it's my observation (from watching races in NJ, NH and ME) that all too often these losing candidates are the result of an unfortunate combination of egotism and cronyism.

    Good luck!

Horn lost because of cronyism. He did an okay job. Essentially, there were two problems with his campaign, one that he could have fixed and one that he could not have fixed. He should have put more effort into Willington. However, he can't change the fact that he's not from Tolland. Thus, we should have nominated someone from Tolland.

      •  I guess by "cronyism" I meant ... (0+ / 0-)

... that someone from Tolland could have been found if the local Dem party leaders had looked past those they already knew and/or thought of.

It's kinda like the way the same baseball managers keep cycling around the leagues, regardless of their effectiveness: "We know these guys and we don't know those guys."

Hopefully they'll learn from this. What would be even better is if someone from Tolland volunteered to run rather than them needing to be convinced.
