    14. In the middle of a little curl! (The middle???)
    20. The door's here in the middle; there's no out, to left and to the right; all which remains is alive.
    (a) One of these is a poetic allusion, the other is musical.

    (b) You'd probably be able to guess the poem and song being alluded to right away if the gremlins hadn't tampered with the punctuation.

    (c) And the capitalization! I just realized that's important too in reading one of these clues correctly.
