  •  It might be lower--though honestly I cannot say (3+ / 0-)

    for sure.

Why I suspect the pregnancy rate may be lower--Military women have direct access to multiple birth control measures, including but not  limited to, Injections, implants, pills, and various barrier methods like diaphragms and condoms. Though the injections, pills and implants are heavily pushed. But luckily they cannot force women to use a method--and as shocking as that sounds--remember, that all of these substances do carry their own risks, and some women cannot tolerate the hormones, and so have to resort to other methods.

The military pays for prescription medical birth control measures. They don't buy your condoms, but if you require a prescription, the military health care covers it.

I am unclear however-- if abortions are available to service members:

It has gone back and forth for some time now.

It appears even we get this passed, men get vasectomies paid for by military insurance, women have to pay out of pocket for an abortion.  I found a story from Jun 7 2013--I don't believe this March Act has passed:

Every survivor of rape and abuse should be cared for and should be protected, but no woman should have to be raped in order to exercise freedom of choice.

That is a false choice, and a bad one at that.
