  •  Victims abandoned in San Diego (10+ / 0-)

Today's LA Times had a story about a woman in San Diego who is a teacher at a Catholic school, where her four children are students.

Her ex-husband is in jail for domestic violence. He threatened her badly enough to achieve a conviction.

According to the Times, she has been fired from her job because the archdiocese feels that students at the Catholic school will be at risk if her husband is released from jail.

Her children have also been expelled from the school.

What on earth are they thinking? Isn't a school supposed to be a community where everyone takes care of one another? Isn't a church supposed to have similar values, supporting the interconnectedness of the faith community?

I grew up in the Catholic church, and am so glad that I forsake it before all this horrible abuse and coverup activity was revealed. Jesus would be rolling over in his grave if that were possible!

    Totally shocking.
