    this is a photo of one taken in a Crataegus thicket on 6/15/2013; you can't miss it for its umbrel inflorescence (again - Parsley family) and its very large simple leaves;

    note: isn't the 'style' a kind of a conduit for the pollen grain to the ovary?  the fireweed's style is so unique!
