Feelings of of an almost human nature

I could no longer connect to my toys in a way that allowed me to participate in the experience.

Depression feels almost exactly like that, except about everything.

At first, though, the invulnerability that accompanied the detachment was exhilarating. At least as exhilarating as something can be without involving real emotions.

Remember: Feelings are only there to be poorly masked with booze.

Hyperbole and a half to post again.

        Here's my list of chipper:

The O's beat the Red Sox in 13 innings last night.

It stopped raining, and my feet aren't webbed.

None of the housecats has left a furball at my feet...yet.

        jbou is still a crazy so-and-so  ;-D

I don't have to mow the lawn.

        And one from my mum:
Candy is dandy, but sex won't rot yer teeth.
(I was an adult when she finally got around to sharing that little bit of wisdom!)

I'll check back with you after I get some coffee into my system.  :-)

        Hugs, sweetie,

(except wood to get rid of the evidence) but it's not so bad.

Surgeons are really good, so that part should go off without a hitch.

Where you have to help is after, because she'll feel like shit and not want to be around people.

You should respect that, but show up anyway and call even if you've already been because Hospitals are booooring.

Make sure you understand what the Doctors and Nurses want to happen and make sure it does.  The last time I was temporarily unavailable the Doctors kept telling me they wanted to "advance my diet" (this is code for making sure you have enough fiber to poop because the Nurses are pretty militant about making you shit in a hat before they sign off on your discharge) and the kitchen kept sending up clears (broth, ice cream, and juice) even after the Doc chewed them out on my bedside phone.

I hope all goes well (am I making the right face?).

        •  You're very good and thank you for the chippering. (3+ / 0-)

She made it thru surgery fine. Gall bladder was gangrenous - hopefully they have good antibiotics, still has stones in her bile duct that will be removed endoscopically to avoid a much more major surgery (WAY too much information, I know).

of surgery ok. I hope you're not too stressed too.

I sing praises in the church of nonsense, but in my heart I'm still an atheist, demanding sense of all things.
