    That would be truly... special.  

    I have no doubt private companies (including the surveillance ones) have been selling "excess" information to marketers along with the information we "voluntarily" provided.  

    Far from receiving micropayments for providing useful data, as Jaron Lanier recommends in "Who Owns the Future," this doomster bets our Galtian overlords will require people to compensate them for lost revenues if they want to opt out, in a literal enactment of the "Matthew Effect".
