  •  Looks like Rick wants to run again in 2016 (11+ / 0-)

    Another frothy Republican primary. Yai!

    •  Sure, he'll run (6+ / 0-)

It'll be crowded - Rubio, Paul, Ryan, Santorum.  Maybe Christie if the GOP is smart.

Of course, looks like the Dems will nominate someone who is ok with the NSA program so I'd rather have a frothy primary than that.

      •  I'm just wondering how much control (2+ / 0-)

over the pub primary process the bosses will claim next time around.  It was pretty clear last time how unhappy they were about the length and breadth of the primary process and wished they could parry it a lot quicker.  I suspect the funding won't be there for a lot of the more populist candidates next time, santorum included. It'll be all corporatists who aren't gonna attack the anointed front runner is my guess.

having so many debates. That is too bad because the dozens of debates were the highlights of the GOP nominating process. Who can forget the $10,000 bet, the OOPS departments that Gov. Goodhair would eliminate and almost anything that came out of Cain's mouth.

Those were good times; fire up the teevee, follow along on the DK liveblog and adjust one's level of intoxicants to the proper level. Now that was entertainment (or very scary, or both...)

      •  It truly will be "crowded" if Christie joins. (0+ / 0-)

Alright, it was bad. I shouldn't have went there. Forgive me please. I'm having trouble restraining myself today. I don't know what's up with me today.

      •  i don't see Christie doing well in (0+ / 0-)

        places like Northern Wisconsin.

I'm less sure Santorum wants to run again than wants to simply be relevant to the conversation.  It'll have been 10 years since he got his ass kicked by the dynamo that is Bob Casey Jr.  There's nobody on that list, though, who's the natural candidate of a populist/religious right like Santorum or Huckabee.  It's an opening for somebody, but time is ticking.  If that group feels disenfranchised from the republican party, good.

        Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.
