    too, from the "generic male" ("Men must be...") voice. I'll give him a pass since it was 1924.

    His wife, Belle Case La Follette, was a power in her own right. Among other things, she was the first woman graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. She founded the Woman's Peace Party in 1915 and was active in the Suffragist movement.

      and probably did a lot of his legal work for him when he was a practicing attorney. She was appalled by segregated Federal facilities in DC during the Wilson administration, and didn't keep quiet about it.

      Not to detract from Bob, because he did a lot of great stuff, but probably one of the greatest things he did was marrying Belle.
