  •  You are forgetting th responsibility we have (0+ / 0-)

We've been willingly giving up our privacy slowly for decades.

We've been electing these idiots for decades.

We've been accepting the loss of privacy for decades.

    We bear some responsibility, too.

    •  really? cause i coulda swore (9+ / 0-)

Obama didn't run on continuing the Bush WOT legacy.

"we've been electing idiots for decades" yes, largely because we're told that the world will collapse if a Republican wins, so we put up with endless neoliberal bullshit from our side in the name of "pragmatism".

danps is absolutely on point. me personally, my biggest issues would be prosecuting the banksters, some actual real wall street reform, a real public option for healthcare and a strengthening of the safety net in general, and the ceasing of indefinite detention. also, at the very least, making whatever massive surveillance infrastructure exists visible to the public.

so in 2008, what was my choice? Obama or Mitt. Obama isn't going to do anything i want him to do, and yet i bear responsibility for the police state?

"vote for our team, OR ELSE". "we've been electing these idiots for decades, it's our fault". pick one. which is it?

Banking on the American people to be able to sort all this out and declare the adult in the room the winner is a very big bet. -Digby
