...what do you think the odds are that we'll have an almost immediate "terrorist" attack?

"Oops. Somebody got through. Now choose: The Bill of Rights, or protection aginst terrrists? Heh heh heh."

rather than the desire to cover their behinds.  Jon Tester ran and won twice, one of his issues being his opposition to the Patriot Act.  Here is list of the people who voted for and against the Patriot Act the last time around.
Part of the problem is that there are so many people in power more interested in looking like they are doing something.  If they wanted to actually stop the growth of terrorism they might consider putting an end to U.S. bombing and other assassination programs all over the world, programs that always terrorize the civilians in the surrounding communities.

when they totally break with the party over this.  It's not enough for them to cast a vote and shrug when the outcome was never in doubt.  That's the game they play on every progressive issue but when they're playing it on civil liberties it's no longer just a game.   They're playing for keeps with our liberties and courage requires more than we're getting from even ONE of them.

Courage would be spilling the beans on this program and then daring the Obama (in)justice department to prosecute a member of Congress for telling the American people the truth.
