    I think that's exactly the right way to look at it, we're talking about generations or sub-generations of voters, not an "age group."

    This is why I have a problem with the age group voting analysis that's been touted recently.  When properly viewing Obama voters, and maybe Kerry voters if you want to include them although they're not as one-sided, it's a larger group than who are "young" voters in an exit poll.  Many are in their 30s now, their turnout rates rise with age, and it's incorrect to view their vote share the same as what an exit poll says about the 18-29 group in a given election.
