  •  uhmmmm, we didn't destabilize Syria. (7+ / 0-)

The Syrians did. Assad's reaction did.

You are really an "exceptionalist" if you think we, US, runs everything.

And we are not on the side of "those radical Islamist organizations - such as Al Qaeda" - Guess what? There are other actors in the world and especially in Syria. You seem to see the world as Dictator vs terrorists.

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... *I'm asking you to believe in yours.* Barack Obama

    •  I see the world as one in which we meddle in (5+ / 0-)

other countries far too readily and violently, with catastrophically deleterious consequences.

I think the assessment in the Mardini article to be spot on, and President Obama's intervention in response to Clinton's crapping on, is what will really make a fool of him, displaying a lack of any kind of thought-out foreign policy.

We're shocked by a naked nipple, but not by naked aggression.

I'm an American citizen who hates the white collar corporo-fascist syndicates that are hell-bent on taking over this country. They are doing a damned good job of it, too.

Some people make u want to change species! --ulookarmless, quoted w/his permission: RIP good man.

Clinton. Clinton may have just picked the moment before the final verdict on chem weapons came out.
It's a sign to me that Hillary is running for 2016, because Bill seems to be telling Obama to get the Syria situation under control and not leave it for her to deal with.

I don't know that Obama's actions have any relation to what Bill said other than the timing.

If the west had established a no-fly zone before the Iranian election, it could have resulted in another hard-line regime.
Hezbollah would have probably gone into overtime and that would have probably meant that Israel may have been pushed into invading Lebanon again.
If we do establish a no-fly zone, it will probably mean some kind of stepped-up operation against Hezbollah and it would be predicated on Iran hanging Hezbollah out to dry.
US et al is not going to want to damage the new gov. in Iran until they see how much mojo they have and what they can do to start neutralizing the hardliners there.
I wish we could establish a no fly zone, beat the shit out of Hezbollah, and create haven for the citizens there and get humanitarian aid to where it's needed. And get the butcher Assad out once and for all. However, maybe the best "thought out foreign policy" is to do what Obama is doing, for now. As bad as that option is.

You can't make this stuff up.
