the actions being snarked are real and occurring.

We can all larf about the 'parody' but it's still ral, even if the graphs above are for entertainment purposes only.

Data capture is data capture and they have made it clear they want it all, so 'snark' or not, we are being unnecessarly monitored and recorded.

Is there a way we could start filling this system with noise?

filling it with noise... but there has to already be SO MUCH NOISE. Everyone is connected, and only a few are engaged in anything dangerous.

Maybe if we have a weird-style protest where everyone downloads porn videos or cat videos over the course of a day... provide software that will do this automatically while you're away. I dunno...

First of all, impractical idea. Second of all, I probably just got myself flagged by the nsa for discussing a way to "disrupt commerce" or something.

seriousness - I am not a computer whiz or anything - I do spend A LOT of time laughing at what must be the content of at least 2/3 of the cell chatter in America: kids and teenagers and people who talk nonstop about friggin nothing or whats on tv.

I mean...teenages.... what could load a sstem with more noise tha n that? you couldn't buy that.

And then down here, some people I see - lots of them - not talking about shit on the phone, just talking because they are in  car is all I can guess. How many americans can drive more than 10 miles without wearing out a cellphone?

which certainly looked real (although one would have to check the US Patent Service to find the original).

If that linked patent is genuine, it describes the method used by NSA analytical software to analyze text.  It picks up the nouns, transforms them into the singular for, assigns a number to the nouns, and adds up the values.  (And if the linked patent is a spoof, it's a helluva good one!)

Some Anon folks have already done an email-bomb filled with trigger-words but very innocent to a human reader.  And a diary here yesterday told of an crowdsourced politics-as-art  where participants wrote poems that had to include 50 terms from a published list (said to be from DHS).
