bank account. If you don't have your own bank account, then yes, you HAVE to use their paycard. Caedy has worked for a corporate store for about 6 years, this is a relatively new thing.
A few weeks ago, this whole region of McDonald's employees woke on payday to find out their checks had not been deposited to their cards. The money simply wasn't there. The phone numbers were, of course snarled, there was no message on the website, no help to be had. Finally several hours after calling and sitting on hold only to be hung up on, finally there was a message at McDonald's central about the error, claiming it would be fixed in 2 hours. Some were, some took 4-6 hours. Caedy used up all the minutes on her prepaid phone trying to figure out WTF was going on. We spent the day trying to figure out what we were going to feed the kids for dinner if that money didn't come through. The paper paystubs were sitting at McDonald's. There was no way to get a check. There was no way to find out where the money was. The management was as lost as everyone else.
