    some positive support and protection of civil rights for transgender folk here in New York State, too. I saw theNYT editorial and your posting at Docudharma. Here in NYC, those protections are already in place.

      ...Buffalo, Binghampton, and I believe Rochester, plus Suffolk and Westchester Counties.  But one shouldn't have their rights be changing so fast as they drive along the Interstate.

        is sponsored by Assemblyman Richard Gottfried and Senator Daniel Squadron. It passed the Assembly in April. They are trying to get it to a vote in the Senate before June 20.  Cuomo supports the bill but hasn't pushed it.

        If it gets a vote, the Democrats are certain it will pass. But under a deal that shares leadership in the Senate, the Republicans are creating bottlenecks that weren't supposed to happen. I hve no idea what Cuomo was thinking when he made that deal, except that he has his eye on the White House in '16.
