    •  I got nothin' but conjecture. (7+ / 0-)

But it makes every lick of sense. The NSA and CIA and everybody crossed every line in the book in reaction to 9/11. The technology existed to listen to everything and analyze it. They were going to do it to our enemies and had nothing besides the Constitution getting in the way from doing it at home. That's just a legalese problem fairly easily walked over, especially with a scared and compliant Congress.

And so they put into place what they wanted to put into place. There are Potemkin guards in place to make it look acceptable if anybody gets too close, but everything is so damn top secret that's not much of a problem.

If you assume the worst, you understand why we've got Congresspeople who blanch about the facts they know about.

committee that advised City officials. Nobody could drive for a week after the storm. The last couple of days the streets were o.k. but the Police Chief and Fire Chief were adamant about keeping the travel restrictions in place. After a day of that B.S. the Mayor said NO - Time to get back to normal.

Learned a lesson way back then. The minor nobility will grab ANY kind of power over people and hold onto it for as long as they can. It time for our country's Mayor to say ENOUGH.

      •  so let's all just blindly guess? (0+ / 0-)

In the time that I have been given,
