  •  I know quite about about adults and adderal (10+ / 0-)

I'm not a psychiatrist but I am VERY skeptical of most claims of 'adult adhd'.

As soon as I see that and hear the discussion I ask about benzos and sleeping pills. A drug for this and a drug for that but they don't smoke pot.

    •  There certainly is Adult adhd (8+ / 0-)

but like you, I am skeptical of the claim. Prescribing benzos to offset side effects of adderall is not good medicine, if the adhd is legit. Better to prescribed melatonin for the sleep disturbance, which studies shows works very well. But I have the feeling that Z is a manipulator and probably would insist on a prescription sleep drug. Additionally, he's in Florida where I fear such a drug cocktail would be more easily obtained.

      •  They all have a variety of docs (6+ / 0-)

And there are real cases but I feel they are more rare and that often its people with underlying illnesses such a bipolar who are trying to manage mood cycling in addition to psychodynamic issues.

I had a great talk with a psychiatrist recently about just this and he, too, is skeptical, though he is conservative about the use of meds to begin with, which has its merits.

My concerns go wholly unheeded though.

If a doc prescribes them it must be OK.

      •  He was taking sleeping pills as well (11+ / 0-)

I forgot which one. And if you compare his speech pattern in the nen call with recordings of previous calls he had made, it is obvious that his speech was slurred that evening.

But I guess in Sanford, they only test you for drugs and alcohol if you are a dead black teenager, not if you just killed one.

the cannabinoids found in cannabis resins are more effective without the negative side effects in treating both insomnia and ADHD. The primary cannabinoid Cannabidiol (CBD) when used in low dosage improves concentration on the task at hand and promotes the creation of the neural pathways associated with learning. In higher doses CBD promotes sleepiness and healthy sleep patterns.

I suffered from learning disabilities when I was younger and when I began using cannabis I found it helped me concentrate on my studies. In my sophomore year in college I began adding a little of my homegrown to my breakfast before going to class and my grades improved significantly. I also noticed that I no longer suffered from testing anxiety which had plagued by high school years.

I believe that one of the most important therapeutic benefits of herbal cannabis is for the treatment of insomnia. The herbal cannabinoids in cannabis resins are not addictive nor do they produce dangerous side effects like most of the prescription drugs used to treat insomnia. Alcohol and many prescription drug causes insomnia and inhibits healthy REM sleep. Herbal cannabinoids naturally and safely promotes a healthy sleep cycle without side effects or hangover.

he was taking. It is Temazepam.

    •  But, it's the establishment or (5+ / 0-)

status quo attitude that while pot is bad, prescription pills are good. Did that start in the 50's?
