    Patience.
    When I go on the hunt, I imagine it`s something like birding photography.
    I move slowly & deliberately into position & get a bit closer & closer.
    Sometimes snap, they`re gone.
    I wait till they come back but I can never be sure they`ll come back to the same opening.
    Eventually I usually get my shot although there are 2 more fish I haven`t captured yet & this is in my little 20 gallon reef.
    I have to keep in mind the reflections from the back wall of the tank & the fact that the fish are in constant motion, changing the depth of field at all times.
    I usually focus on a spot in the tank, lock focus & move to where I believe the fish will swim through.
    When it does, I have a split second to shoot.

    The other thing I noticed is that in all the years I`ve been posting my underwater images, no one has ever commented on the clarity of the water I have to shoot through. That is a very important factor, first for my charges & secondly my photography.
