  •  Barry's Boys (4.00)
should have posted the source (other than the dank recesses of my own memory that Bill's comedy routine dredged through):

    Barry's Boys

    Take a click:

    We're the kids who agree
    To be social without security
    We're Barry's boys
    ...
No college days with Socrates and Plato
    When you're Barry's boys
You just organize parades for the abolishment of NATO
    And the rest
    The entire West
So let's go back to the days when men were men
And start the First World War all over again
That's right you tell 'em son
    Isolationism can be fun
    Back to Barry
    Back to cash and carry
    Back to Barry's Booooooys!
    •  Chad Mitchell Trio Reunion CD (4.00)
has an update for the Reagan years which they called "Ronnie's Boys."  With apologies to them, I took some liberties and changed just a few lines and came up with

      Dubya's Boys

      We're the bright young men
Who wanna go back to 1910,
      We're Dubya's Boys.
We're the kids with a cause,
      Yes a government like great-grandmama's
      We're Dubya's Boys.
We're the new kind of youth at your Alma Mater
Back to silver standard and solid gold water
Back to when the poor were poor and rich were rich
And you felt so damn secure just knowin' which were which.

We're the kids who agree to be social without security
      We're Dubya's Boys
Cause his hat's in the ring where Ronald Reagan once was king
      Now he's too left wing!
So let's go back to the days when men were men
And fight the Vietnam War all over again
That's right, you tell `em son
      Imperialism can be fun
      Back with Dubya's Boys.

We're the kids full of nerve
      As long as it's conserve-
      ative, we're Dubya's Boys.
      And we can't comprehend
      Why our parents aren't friend-
      lier to Dubya's Boys.
Why Dad once crusaded for equal opportunity
Now all we're doin' is doin' the same for tax immunity.
Our parents emulated JFK and King
But we just wanna be taken under Chaney's (chickenhawk) wing.
No college days with Socrates and Plato
      When you're Dubya's Boys.
      Just organize parades
For the abolishment of NATO and the rest--
      The entire West!
So if you don't recognize "unpatriotic" dissensions,
Or first amendment freedoms or Geneva Conventions,
You too can join the crew
      Tippecanoe and Rumsfeld too,
      Back with Dubya
(Don't let the Constitution troublya ),
      Bach with Dubya's Boys!

"Environments are invisible. We don't know who it was that first discovered water, but we can be pretty sure it wasn't a fish." -- Marshall McLuhan
