    you've got an opinion about what they are what they stand for etc. I'd be sure you keep opinions clear and open to other views and give equal time (as warranted) to other opinions and cite the references. It got co-opted by some groups, (political and otherwise) at some levels, in some places. For instance the "tea party" here is really three different groups with no real outside strings. I know, my brother in law is active here.

    While not untrue, I think your description above is overly simple and incomplete. Similar to the "grassroots" that led to McCain Fiengold. There was grassroots interest that got it started but the big money came form a handful of backers to get that done.

      What MOST people know as the Tea Party is the product of Fox News and Freedomworks.  I think it is disingenuous to pretend that it is anything other than what it is just because the first one was started by a single person.  The marketers and politicians quickly saw an angle and took it over:
