    I worry about the chilling effect a surveillance state might have on our journalists.  At the same time I'm also afraid of what another major terrorist attack going off without a hitch would set in motion.  If 9/11 changed everything the first time, what's to prevent a second major attack from pushing us even further down the rabbit hole?

    It's a fine line to tread, and no administration wants to be the one caught not doing enough to protect people.  But if these programs can't be kept in check then perhaps we're already too far down that hole...

    I'm truly torn by this issue.  And I have a feeling I'm not a lone.

      a press pass and claim he'd been 'working on a story'.  If 'the press' is free to post this sort of info, why is it so terrible that someone without a press pass was involved?

      I mean sure, you can say 'freedom of the press', but that's in the same document with 'freedom from search and seizure'.  Why play by the book on one, and shred the other?
