how you could know if he was cheering the war since he was in a law practice at the time and was not writing. I remember reading his full disclosure about his support for Bush in the lead up to the war (which he really didn't have to disclose but did) and if I remember correctly, it wasn't support but more like benefit of the doubt, and lasted a very short time.  I think we're talking about a matter of weeks before he realized that Colin Powell and Jack Straw were lying.

So basically he admits that as a young man with a busy law practice, he was duped for a short period of time, and discloses that.  He strikes me as a person who is honest, almost to a fault, and who didn't even have to admit to this.  I find it to be interesting how some people are given a pass for their initial support of the invasion of Iraq (on the premise, at the time, that they had something to with 9/11 and that their was a tie between Saddam and AQ, and that he intended to supply them with nukes and bio and chem weapons) and others are held accountable for it.  Progressives use it a a very selective club for people they don't like or can't effectively refute in other ways.

I think that's the case with Greenwald.  He's a formidable opponent for those who dedicate their lives to defending the party and their hero president because his arguments are always well argued and well sourced and he doesn't respond to the bullying or cave in to the relentless trolling.  In fact, he often pushes back, which flusters the militant authoritarians to no end and I've watched it happen a number of times when they end up discrediting themselves while trying to discredit him.  It's happening with Rick Perlstein at this very moment, in fact.  It's almost painful to watch.

Hyperpartisans and Obama apologists don't often try to debate him on the facts though, they go straight for the zombie lies.

I don't know how I could do something like this. I'll blame it on no caffeine at the time.  Ugh, one of my pet peeves too.

      There, not their!

comments called into question yesterday because I needed to learn the difference between "your" and "you're."

As it turns out, my usage was CORRECT, and the critic was actually incorrecting me.

So you get a pass from me, at least, joanneleon. ;)

Somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us.
