At least, none of any consequence. Any left-wing groups as vituperative, shrill and ignorant as the assortment of howling nutbags that make up 90% of the teabagger movement have few members and make their opinions known on poorly frequented blogs. That is the extent of their impact. I can name thirty blogs and "news sites" on the right that feature yowling, shrieking idiots who routinely get face time on Fox, CNN, the networks, and, occasionally, MSNBC. I can't name any on the left.

To quote myself from a post below:

Left-wing extremists have small organizations with little influence. Their leaders never make appearances in the mainstream media, and they are routinely shunned by mainstream liberals. Right-wing extremists dominate the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court, state legislatures and governor's offices, and much of the media. Big fucking difference, that.
    •  The rightwingere are able to mobilize voters (7+ / 0-)

They work on their messaging and show up whenever an opportunity presents itself.  Lefties tend to complain a lot and not show up.  The rightwingers actually make a point of appealing to people while the lefties tend more to talk about how stupid anyone has to be to disagree with them.  Antichoicers and homophobes are out there every day working their turf, lefties are mostly busy laughing at them (and losing elections).

I admire our values and ideals.  I don't think much of our lack of humility and our lack of work ethic.

We have a lot more to offer, but we don't work hard enough or smart enough at offering it.  So, it's perfectly natural for politicians to ignore us.
