  •  I have participated in the SNAP Challenge (3+ / 0-)

For the last two years, I have participated in a local version of the SNAP challenge, living on the average allocation for a work week.  I have found it barely possible to make meals the whole week, but it tends to be monotonous -- the same grain, the same (cheap) meat, the same vegetables.  I also find there is a definite difference between being no longer hungry, and being full.

During the challenge, I find myself feeling incomplete, and (of course) increasingly fixated on how much food I have and whether I can make it through the week.  Last year, my entire office participated.  By the end of the week we were all getting cranky and out of sorts, and that was before the coffee ran out.

My sincere thanks to every member of Congress who honeslty participated in the SNAP challenge, and to all those who voted against this abomination of a Farm Bill.  Might I suggest that a "yes" vote on this travesty be weighted heavily against those so-called Democrats when they seek support for re-election?
