  •  It's pretty much a fact. (4+ / 0-)

All things being equal and assuming good physical and mental health, women scorch men in coping skills and their ability to handle stress, react to emergency situations and juggle/arrange tasks.

I don't know any man who would disagree either.

    •  That's interesting (0+ / 0-)

In my experience, I've known people of both genders who were strong natural leaders and could handle any crisis, and people of both genders who would fold up like a deck chair at the slightest problem.

I always thought mental toughness and discipline was a function of how you were raised and your personal characteristics and not determined by gender.

      •  It's biological as well. (2+ / 0-)

In studies of preemies and their ability to thrive, female babies do markedly better. Black females followed by white females, then white males and then black males. That was for the cohorts mentioned. This is taken into account in NICUs when mapping out strategies for helping very small or ill babies to survive.

Women also have the ability to store fat while maintaining muscle mass which also helps maintain their stamina. Men burn off calories much faster. Fat is what the brain uses to function [and develop].
