The criticism often heard is that Obama hasn't done anything on climate change, not that Obama hasn't done enough, either objectively or subjectively.

There are legitimate criticisms, as you excellently note. What I think the comment was getting at is that deluding ourselves either way in our "reality based community" does not help.

Step 1: Someone writes a highly misleading diary with a selective use of facts. Step 2: Someone else writes a highly misleading diary to counter the first diary with a selective use of facts. Step 3: Someone says Obama is worse than Hitler. Repeat.

The consequences of "not doing anything" and "not doing enough" are the same. The only approach that's going to avert catastrophe is doing a whole lot, and then doing some more.

We have to reduce the actual amount of fossil fuel material that's extracted from the ground. In order to do that, it is necessary to stop the pipeline and other projects that enable the fossil fuel industry.

...comment. There is a small number of people who say Obama has done nothing on climate change. Instead of focusing on the many, many comments that take a nuanced view, why focus on the few that do not? Why give a megaphone to negative commenters instead of positive, nuanced commenters?

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.
