  •  Here's the criedt Al Gore gave him ... (0+ / 0-)

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Al Gore sharply criticized President Obama as lacking leadership on climate change in a magazine essay published online Wednesday, saying his policies had been little more effective than those of President George W. Bush.
    ________

That quote is a little out of date, but Gore's views have not changed.

    Credit where credit is due?

And Obama has not said whether the limits will apply to existing plants.  He's still consulting with the Koch brothers on that.

need others to do the thinking for me.  I could throw just as many, or more, quotes from leading environmentalists at you who will give the Obama Administration credit where credit is due.

The Obama Administration got the historical mercury regulations in place, not Gore.

The Obama Administration got the historical, stringent CAFE standards in place, not Gore.

The Obama Administration played a big role in making the U.S. a cleantech leader again via smart use of stimulus funds, not Gore.

The Obama Administration is in large parts responsible for the U.S. leading the world in vehicle electrification, not Gore.

If you or any other armchair quarterbacks want to lob grenades from the sidelines while the Obama Administration gets big things done despite a totally recalcitrant Congress, feel free to do so.  Just don't expect informed people to respect you for it or just accept snide b.s. statements like "he's still consulting with the Koch brothers on that".

That kind of statement is just plain ignorant.

      •  Good... (0+ / 0-)

Think for yourself.  That's wonderful.   But I trust Al Gore's and the other environmental leaders' judgment much more than your cute cheer leading.

Obama will side with the Koch brothers on the pipeline by all accounts.  He will reject Al Gore and the entire environmental community.

Uncritical worship of political figures has never led to anything but disappointment and disaster.  I've now spent my allotment of time for this sort of drudgery.  Good day.

          "your cute cheer leading"

If all you can do is toss around empty cliché phrases like that one instead of acknowledging some very real and important accomplishments, then you're not exactly doing a stellar job of thinking for yourself.
