    sent back?

Just because something was illegal in Cuba doesn't mean it has any bearing on the status of the immigrant in the US.

There are many people that leave their home country by lying about their reasons for going to the US. Once here, as long as they work in the system, they are legal residents.

Again, Senator Cruz is vile, and the fact that he is the son of an immigrant makes his whole Tea Party schtick hypocritical. Other than the karmic rightness of being able to call Cruz an "illegal" I don't see that his dad did anything illegal (in this country).

should NOT be sent back.  At least in my opinion.

But I also don't think Cruz's father should be sent back despite the fact that he probably got here in ways that may not have been entirely legal.

But then, I think the illegal immigration "problem" is overblown anyway, and that the best solution is for us to streamline the process so it doesn't take as long for people to be granted legal citizenship.

However, under Cruz's ideology, his father most certainly should be sent back.  That's the point.

be deported. Which I don't. But many Republicans do.

It's his own party that will have a problem with this, or ought to.

Economics is a social *science*. Can we base future economic decisions on math?
