    this chapter.  It's a bit of an intimidating read, but it brings back a lot of things I learned in a physical anthropology class.  How and when we learned to use different tools (like watercraft) is something that's always interested me.  

    It took us so long to advance once, but today technology discoveries seem to fall like drops of water from a waterfall.  I wonder how people regarded the very first guy to piece together a raft.
