even after all this time, knowing, this is still... bizarre to watch  it unfold. Talk about your 11th D chess. Game. Set. Match?

Im out the door, catch up with you truthtellers later.

    •  Ah, hadn't seen that video yet (13+ / 0-)

      Thanks!

I've been down the rabbit hole for a couple of weeks, but yesterday it seems like we tumbled down to a deeper level.

I don't know if Carney realizes that the context for everything has changed. I don't think he does.

For instance, when he says they aren't buying the explanation from Hong Kong, that it was a technical issue, a paperwork issue, and says it was a deliberate decision... well did anybody think it was?  But when he says he's not buying it and then makes such a definitive statement, and given the disclosures about hacking and eavesdropping, the first thing I thought of was, well no wonder you're so certain, you're monitoring their every communication.  I think everybody but the White House is thinking in those terms now, and that they don't realize yet how differently the world views tham than it used to.  Not just because of the NSA files, also because of the bizarre warmongering behavior, particularly after Obama's election and Peace prize because the world thought our long national nightmare of Bush/Cheney was over then.  And after years of wishful thinking and endless benefits of the doubt, it's crystal clear now that it's not over.

      •  As did so many of us in the USA (8+ / 0-)
because the world thought our long national nightmare of Bush/Cheney was over then.

The nightmare continues, in ways we could not even have imagined when Obama took office.

Difference of course is those people against the worst of the Bush/Cheney abuses now find themselves defending the same done under Obama. It's kind of a world turned upside down, at times.

Reading the horrific story yesterday about the ongoing torture of the "indefinitely detained" Gitmo prisoners and where is the outrage? really, where is the the condemnation?

If they are not to ever be released, wouldn't it be an act of mercy to allow them to die, if that is their choice?

Of course that would be another national disgrace if the USA allowed them to die, what a PR nightmare, right?
So they torture them to keep them alive........
