  •  Both issues are relative. We can discuss both. (4+ / 0-)

At least some of us can discuss and consider both without getting our knickers in a twist and, like a schoolyard bully, HRing for disagreement.

If you believe that Snowden is irrelevant, then you are certainly free to avoid diaries that discuss or even mention him.

In fact, go ahead, please do.

Myself, I see the two issues as separate. I find the topic of Snowdon and his motives very interesting. I find that we are finally discussing the fallout of Bush's decisions after 9/11 interesting also but I think it's a good thing.

It may be used as a distraction at times but many of us have an interest in both. You do not. That is fine but please don't lable my/our motive to discuss Snowdon as a distraction when we find it interesting

I am not commenting about this diary in how it discusses both NSA spying and Snowdon. Just saying it isn't always a distraction.

    •  No, because diaries focused on Snowden invariably (5+ / 0-)

diminish the real issues of NSA domestic spying. Why focus on the snitch, when the real issue is the drug dealer?

Focusing on Snowden is the diversion from the real issue of domestic spying, endorsed by a Democratic president we expected better of, if only in our wildest dreams.

        as "real" or not.

Maybe what you mean is that some people blend both togeather. Instead of labeling some of what some people want to discuss in their own diary (ie Snowdon angle) why not try to separate the two topics?
The only way Snowdon angle necessarily effects the NSA spying is if he lied.
honestly and again, many of us find Snowdon and his motivations to be fascinating. I get you just want to talk about the NSA but some people want to discuss Snowdon as well.

I can see what you mean in this diary as it 's blended togeather. But it is not in all diaries.

You don't have the right or the authority to decide the topics or how the topics will be discussed.

The site rules disagree with you, many readers obviously disagree with you (see numbers of diaries and their tips and recs), common courtesy disagrees with you.

I am not defending this diary, I am defending the right of this diarist to express himself within the rules and common sense bounds of this site.

And I am disgusted and angry with the intolerance and rudeness of you and your friends.
